I write and photograph for national and international magazines on travel, culture, people, farming and food . I specialize in landscapes that are high and cold, like Alaska, Ireland, and the mountains of Italy, and also a few places that are warm, like Hawaii.
My essays, profiles, news and travel pieces have appeared in VIA, San Francisco Chronicle, Travel + Leisure, Sierra, National Geographic Traveler, Adventure Sports Journal, The Furrow, Homestead, and MIT Technology Review. I profiled photographers and social media producers for the Soundslides photo software company blog. I have ghostwritten "Chicken Soup" series stories for the inspirational speaker Donna Hartley, and edited a cookbook/memoir by Wolfdale's Cuisine Unique chef Douglas Dale, to be published in 2016.
